Layout exporting to PDF issue

Hi

I am having issues exporting my layout to PDF.

I have read through all the topics and tried all the suggestions and I’m still getting the same issue. I know its not the file because my colleagues can open the file and export no problem so I think its in my settings but I cant figure it out.

I have unticked the override
I have changed all my fonts
I have uninstalled and reinstalled sketch up
I’ve logged in and out of my account
I’ve changed all the view ports to vector
I’ve removed any dimensions on the model
I’ve tried exporting to my desk top instead of drop box

unfortunately I’m still getting this window
“there was a problem exporting to this file”
image

any advice?

Thanks
Lexi

How many pages are there in the file? What happens if you try exporting one page at a time. If it is something within the document that is unique to one page, tracking down which page would be a start.

BTW, I would suggest not exporting directly to DropBox. Hopefully you haven’t been working on the file directly from DropBox.

Can you share the LayOut file?

Thank you for the fast response.

I have put the model and the layout file on my desk top and tried exporting one page at a time and I still get the same issue.

I’m not sure I can share the file as its work sensitive
also my collages can open the file and export with no issues

One could conclude it’s not a problem with the LayOut file, then. Rather it’s something about your computer. Have you tried a cold reboot of the machine? Update graphics drivers? What happens if you disconnect the computer from the network and/or internet?

Can you export .png images from the LayOut file?

I tried disconnecting form the internet and network and it still had the same issue.
I can export to dwg but not png.
ill try a cold reboot.

How do I update the graphic drive?

You need to find out what the graphics card model is. Go to the manufacturer’s site and search for their driver downloads. Download and install their most recent drivers and then do another cold reboot of the computer.

I’ve checked the manufacture website for driver downloads and my laptop has the most recent already.

this the graphic card model

Is SketchUp using the Nvidia RTX or is it using the Intel UHD graphics? Check in Preferences>Graphics>GPU Selection.

Is your document using some special font? If yes, do you have it installed in your system, and is it the same version that your colleagues have? PDF creation is sensitive to typeface issues.

it just says using default, should i select a certain one?

unfortunately I have tried all the font tricks :frowning_with_open_mouth:

Change the GPU selection to the Nvidia card.

This problem can happen when a dimension is collapsed to zero (auto linked with a SketchUp object). This dimension is currently on a page/some pages. You can find out by just export PDF a half of pages, and a half of a half and so on…

I did this and then saved and shut everything and rebooted and reopped, and… problem is still there.

I’ve deleted and purged all my dimensions from my sketch up model :slightly_frowning_face:

Hmmm …

Do you have dimensions added in the LO file? What happens if you remove them? What happens if you remove all text from the file?

Have you purged the LO file?

I mean, dimensions in LayOut.

your a life saver!

I removed the company template for the document info and it now exports!
Thank you so much!

Do you mean the company logo? What format was it in?

Presumably it was on every page which would account for not being able to export any of the pages.

ok i spoke to soon!

hasn’t solved the issue. Im going to see if removing any other text works
