Loaded the new SU pro 2023, having these problem.
- the lasso command isn’t working.
- the drag selection window is also nonexistent.
I have reverted back to SU 2022, and the above functions its working.
If you still have 2023 installed, can you show the Large Tool Set, and see if the two buttons are working there?
Sounds like you need to update you graphic card drivers.

Not being able to see selection boundaries is often tied to the Fast Feedback setting:
Window (menu) > Preferences (dialog) > Graphics (panel)
