Really finding these Live kitchen cabinet models useful (and could quit my current parametric software if there were more, with more parameters)….
Can anyone tell me who created these?
Are there companies/ designers for hire to make more?
Thanks!

I could be wrong, but so far I think almost all the live components are put out by the SketchUp Labs team that develops the Live Component system itself. Is that screen grab from 3D Warehouse?
Yes, it’s a screen capture from the 3D Warehouse.
Do you know of a way to communicate with the team that makes those?
Thank you for the reply!
They are all Made with Trimble creator - you are able to View and edit the node graph if you want to create more or customise the existing ones
I would guess that the Warehouse has much more cabinetry available that use the Dynamic Component functionality to add parametric features than Live Components.
I’ve created a lot and bought kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom dynamic components, ready to be used with Open Cut list for my projects. Creating dynamic components is easier than creating live components. I tried Trimble creator some years ago but it lacked of nodes to create complex objects. Geometry nodes on blender is a better tool to create parametric objects.
Hey, glad to hear you find these models useful. I oversee the Content Program for SketchUp and my team created all of the content in the SketchUp Content Library. We’re always open to feedback on how to improve our content. Feel free to continue this thread, message me privately, or leave comments and requests in 3D Warehouse.
Yes sir I’ve seen those- the ability to scale Live model cabinets, is a big draw, vs dynamic (unless I’ve just never seen scalable dynamic models)?
Would you happen to know if users can make their own Live components?
Thanks!
Litany of questions if willing:
Are those Dynamic models scalable using Scale command?
Do you have a favorite source for those cab models you’ve bought?
You’re saying that Live comp. can be made in Blender?
Thanks again!
Thanks- have never used Tc, but will looking into this thanks!
KraftMaid has a lot of cabinets in 3D Warehouse that are dynamic components.
It is possible for dynamic components to be scalable, but those don’t seem to be. I’ve seen plenty of windows, doors, etc. that are.
There is Cabinet Sense plugin for a work flow all the way to CNC machining the parts. It is not free or cheap for that matter, but not surprising given the power.
At 3D Basecamp 2024, I attended Alastair Johnson’s presentation, and IIRC, he uses Cabinet Sense. He at least said he relied on dynamic components, and when I asked if they would be converting to a workflow based on live components, in the audience was the person who developed the dynamic components, and he gave a reason that escapes me now why they can’t do something or other with live components that they can do with dynamic components, so no plan to switch. I suggest @Jake_from_SketchUp have a direct conversation with Alastair and his team to figure out what that’s all about.
Yes the components are scalable using the native tool without distortions, some kitchen cabinets add extra doors if the scale requires. I bought somemodels some years ago, most of the models were created by me.
No, to create live components you must use geometry nodes, a tool that blender has perfectioned and works way better than trimble creator, imo, but you cant import those parametric models and make them work on sketchup.
Live Components are a SketchUp technology… I have no idea how Blender got brought into this conversation.
The Live Components that have the Scale tool support usually have an animated thumbnail, that shows what happens when you scale the component. Try this search, and a few of the results show the animation:
Thanks!
I downloaded Cabinet Sense with some optimism, but they stopped replying to my installation/ setup questions after 3 emails, so I deleted it.
Also, it’s not much cheaper than Mozaik (with far fewer features imo).
I do appreciate the suggestion though!
