Just updated to Sketchup 2024, and there's no Recovered Files folder

I just updated to Sketchup 2024. I got about 2 hours of work done, and Sketchup crashed. Unlike previous versions of Sketchup, no backup file was made, even though I have the “Create Backup” preference set and I had already saved the new model. I also have the autosave set to every 5 minutes, but there is also no “Recovered Files” folder in the typical autosave file location (C:\Users[My Computer’s Name]\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2024) I do know the difference between backup files and autosave files. Neither are working as expected.

Two hours of work isn’t the end of the world. So, I’m more concerned that backups and autosave don’t seem to be working at all. Next time, it may well be the end of the world haha. Please help!

What if you look in Local instead of Roaming? That’s where it’s supposed to be.

When you installed SketchUp 2024 did you do so correctly? That requires right clicking on the installer and selecting Run as administrator.

There it is! Yay! Thank you!

For your interest, the location was changed with SketchUp 2024, I think mainly because it needed to support recent Trimble Connect files you have been working on.
