Good deal.
I’ve read this thread and watched the video. I may have missed something but I’m still having problems activating Sketchup on a new computer. On the startup window I’m getting the message " You have exceeded your allowed activations." I’d rather not deactivate other devices. My account manager shows that 1 of 2 activations are available. I’ve logged out and restarted and continue to get the same message. Shouldn’t I be able to activate this new install?
You do not “activate” devices. You sign in (log in) on devices (aka seats.)
Per subscription, you can sign in to only 2 seats at any given time.
From time to time the login dat files get out of whack, and you will need to clear all sign ins via the account page.
Then you can sign in on whatever device you need to. It’s not a big deal as you’ll need to sign in again every so often anyway.
Ok, thanks. I’ll do that. I do have a classic license and 2 subscriptions to pro. This may then be more than I need. I have several locations from which I use SketchUp. I thought activations were per an install basis so for the more computers I sketch on the more licenses I need. Is this not correct? An employee and I are the only ones logged in 95% of the time but that may be from any of a number of computers.
That was for classic licenses which they do not sell anymore.
Then if you are using the subscriptions, sign out on a computer when you are done using SU on that machine,
