Hi there. Recently, I encounter issues when trying to upload my models to warehouse in order to share them. I receive the message “An error occured while uploading to the 3D warehouse!”. I have upgraded to Sketchup 2026 and encountered this with 2025 recently and now with 2026. What can I do or what do I do wrong? I have shared models with my customers before and it had always worked smoothly. Does anybody encounter this issue, too? I am glad if someone could help me. Thanks. With best regards
do you get the issue in both sketchup and your browser, or only in sketchup ?
What size are the files? I would expect an error message about the size if they exceed the maximum limit but I cannot be sure.
Did you know that you can also create a viewing link via Trimble Connect? This enables your customers to view your model in their browser, without having to install anything.
Our model has 39 MB. It is not too big. What do you think?
We try to upload from sketchup to the warehouse. I have a few models there. It used to work very smoothly. We dont understand the issue. And it seems it is very difficult to find help.
I just tried to upload from the browser. The model is uploading and everything seems to work fine. But the model then has only 0 KB and there is no visible content.
I got the following from technical support. I did a followup email for the last question and waiting for their response.
“I am sorry you are having this issue. I am going to do my best to try and help resolve the issue with you.
First, can I ask how large the file is? there is a 50MB file size limit on files uploaded to the 3D Warehouse, so if the file is larger than that, it will not work.
If the file is under 50MB, can you try the following the steps in this exact order?
-
Can you sign out of the SketchUp Pro application? Go to Help > Sign Out.
-
**Close SketchUp completely** (If you are on a Mac, please be sure to go to your Dock and right click on SketchUp and LayOut and select either Quit or Force Quit. This step not being followed will cause this fix to fail, so please be sure you are closing SketchUp!)
-
Open a Web Browser and go directly to the 3D Warehouse: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com
Click the Person Icon in the upper right and sign out there as well. -
Reopen SketchUp
-
Sign back in and see if this resolves the issue.
If that still does not work, can you go to the 3D Warehouse directly again: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.comAre you able to upload SketchUp model files directly there?
If you can upload on the site, but not through SketchUp, please let me know.”
