Failed upload 3D Warehouse

Hello,

Every model I upload to 3D Warehouse fails to process. The upload itself completes (“Complete!”), but the model page then shows “Upload has failes”

I have ruled out the usual causes:

  • Reproduced with a brand-new, simple cube created in SketchUp — so it is not specific to my models.
  • Tried uploading via the website (drag-and-drop) and directly from SketchUp (Share Model) — both fail identically.
  • Tried saving the file down to SketchUp 2021 — no difference.
  • Tried from two different networks (company network and a mobile hotspot) — fails on both.
  • The files open correctly in SketchUp: valid geometry, normal size (~134 × 105 × 118 mm), centered near the origin.
  • Files are well under the 50 MB limit (~1.2–1.4 MB).
  • The SketchUp Status page shows all services “Normal”, and my previously uploaded models still display correctly.

It looks like an account-side or processing-side issue preventing my uploads from being processed. Could someone help?

I’m happy to provide model IDs, screenshots, or a sample file. Thank you.

What context have you selected when trying to upload?

Since 2021 the file format is the same so that wouldn’t make any difference.

FWIW, I just tried saving a model to my account and had no problem. The preview is still rendering but it did upload.

Hi,

I dont have that option

Yes the other 160 models on my account work perfectly (they have been uploaded in 2024). Now I’m trying to add some more but isn’t working anymore (see test file that I just uploaded again)

What license type do you have? Are you trying to upload from SketchUp or via your web browser?

I’m using the 2026 pro version. From the desktop application.

You have a Pro subscription, then?

Where on the planet are you? Might affect which server is being used.

Can you share the model? I’ll see if I can upload it to the 3D Warehouse to identify if it’s the model that is problematic.

test.skp (1.6 MB)

I have a subscription yes. I’m located in Belgium.

Model is attached.

Well, it uploaded fine for me so I don’t think we can blame your model.

Can you upload to the 3D Warehouse via your internet browser?

I wonder if @daniel_pidcock would have some insight.

If I may ask: What version are you using?

I just tried through a browers as test2 but results are the same: 3D Warehouse

I’m using SketchUp 2026.2.243. Which version are you using?

Hmmm … I see the same information (polygon count, bounds, etc.) comparing my upload to yours.

I pinged Daniel. Let’s see if he comes along with some input.

New information!

I closed the 3D Warehouse page and reopened it in my browser. Now I’m seeing the Failed to upload message, too. I wonder why it didn’t show that initially. Yours now shows “Something doesn’t look right” instead of “Failed to upload”.

The status on my own model (which appeared to be just fine when I made my first reply here now shows the “Failed to upload” message.

I think it shows "Something doesn’t look right” to external user. I, as admin, still see the "Failed to Upload

It appears that your model upload has failed.

Please try uploading the model again."

Guessing something is wrong with my model then?

I don’t think it’s your model. I just tried another file of mine that is about 770 Kb. It looked like it worked until I reloaded the web page for the 3D Warehouse. Then I got Upload Failed.

I think it is indeed something with the Warehouse and @daniel_pidcock may be able to tell us more.

Yesterday I was having a lot of lag on the warehouse. no incident on the status page, but I had to drop the in-SU version to use the website one only (because you can force a page reload).

idk what went wrong, could be heat related, I know that several server farms in france are in the red zone.

I just tried and it worked for me, but that doesn’t mean there are no intermittent issues.
I don’t work with the 3D Warehouse team so can’t help further.
One thing you could try is right click in the 3D Warehouse window, show DevTools, and go to the network tab to see if a useful error is reported.

Dan

Sorry to have bugged the wrong person.

This is what I see in the DevTools console.

This with another try at uploading.

I’ve passed this onto the team responsible and they are now investigating
