Issue with imported referenced dxf in Layout

I’m having a problem trying to import a DXF drawing into LayOut as a referenced file. The DXF was created from the Curic Section extension, and it contains a vector hatch. I can open it and visualize it correctly in my Autodesk Viewer.

However, as I try to import the DXF into LayOut, no matter which import option I choose, it simply doesn’t work, and LayOut doesn’t show me any hatch.

I tried the following:

  • Import DXF as reference

  • Import DXF as SKP file

…with no luck.

However, when I import the file into SketchUp, it recognizes the hatch pattern, and the file looks like I wanted it to be.

The problem is that I would like to maintain a live reference with the DXF file and update it just in case of changes.

Can anyone help?

Section 1.dxf (32.8 KB)

Section 1.layout (36.4 KB)

Section 1.skp (288.2 KB)

So the DXF insert doesn’t work in Layout for me -

inserting it into SketchUp first and then sending to layout is fine - as is importing it as an SKP

The layout file you’ve supplied has a different .skp file inside of it which doesn’t physically doesn’t have the hatches. if I relink it to the .skp you have provided it is correct

Thanks Adam, that’s exactly what I came across too. Unfortunately, it doesn’t solve the problem of the direct link to the DXF file (and not to the DXF file previously imported into SketchUp) how I would like it to have in LayOut.
