Is it recommended find center before drawing a sphere?

… and draw new shapes using that point as reference…

Hi s’2k99. Adding my 2 bobs worth to what I see as your original question of referencing.

If you are not concerned about keeping solids geometry (as mandated for 3D printing), I usually create small cross hairs (1mm) or “intersecting lines” (like you would use guidelines) and create a hidden layer called “$guidelines” (that way it’s always near the top of my layers list) and place these guides in that layer. That way I can toggle that layer on/off as required and it doesn’t interfere with my model (when toggled off). Once toggled on, I turn x-ray on, align the parts and then toggle guidelines off.

PS. In all fairness when toggled on, some of my models appear cluttered and confusing, but makes alignment easier… especially when inferencing seems to have a mind of it’s own… when off you don’t even know it’s there.

PPS. For me, this method works like permanent guide lines/points that don’t get deleted.
Would be nice if the SU developers could incorporate this feature (permanent guidelines/points) if not already on the drawing board.
