Hey guys I’m new to SketchUp
How to create a sphere?
Thank you
Found it
Under autoshape
or using follow me.
I’ll do it here in pro, because I don’t have an ipad. but it works the same in all SU versions.
it works for pretty much all the things with central symmetry. instead of the round face, you could make a bottle, or a lightbulb…
(technically half a bottle or lightbulb)
Thank you. That would help.
Next question, how to stack up w 2 spheres (top/bottom) at the center point (in SketchUp for iPad)?
Tia
well I’m gonna have to guess on this one, but since the ipad doesn’t have keyboard shortcuts, there should be a way in the interface to draw circles on a red, green or blue plan.
(yes, at 0:40 in the video, inference locking)
on pro, I can either hover on the first circle to have the centre inference appear, or right click on the circle and choose find centre.
apparently it’s the same on ipad
so the steps,
- draw the first circle. it can be blue, red or green
- in the overflow context menu, you can pick “find center”
- draw the second circle, in another axis. if the first was blue, pick red or green and so on.
- I recommend to have the path circle bigger than the face circle, like I did in the video. that way it’s easier to get rid of it after.
again, don’t have an ipad to try this, but from what I know about the interface there, it should work
Thank you. I appreciate your help
A sphere is basically follow me of a circle with a circle. Same in all versions of Sketchup.
