Hello. is it possible to import max files into sketch up? This topic has been raised on the forum before, but in 2016. As I understand it is not possible to do it without 3d max installed. Or has something changed after that?

No.
But websites such as anyconv.com are able to convert .max files to .stl that you can then import into sketchup.
I managed to get a fair result with simple models but don’t expect miracles on bigger ones

Nothing has changed. The .max filetype is still proprietary to Autodesk.
