I am new to Sketchup Go on my ipad Air. I have a Go subscription. When I first log into Sketchup and click on “Create New” I am presented with the “Buy a subscription” page offering the opportunity to purchase a subscription. As I already have one I don’t want another but cannot escape from this page to create a new sketch.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks
Did you sign in?
Hi, thanks for responding. Yes. I even signed out then signed back in. Still can’t create a new sketch without getting the new subs page
Nine out of ten times when this happens users are signing in with a different email from the one they used to purchase the subscription. Make sure you are signing into with the email address you entered when you paid for your subscription.
Hi, thanks for responding. I have 2 email addresses. I use (removed) to access SketchUp on my pc with free access. My plan shows “Sketchup free”. In order to differentiate between the free account I use on my pc and the new subscribed account for use on my iPad I subscribed and logged in with (removed). The plan for this account also shows “Sketchup free”. Can I upload all my sketches from the bp account to the Jim.weatherhead account then delete the blue.piggy account?.
It sounds like you haven’t assigned a seat to yourself.
I removed your email address, this is a public forum, and it would be easy for your details to be added to spam bots.
The problem with your account is that when you set up an email with Apple, you chose the hide my email option. I’m not sure which of the email addresses is your Apple ID, but to Trimble you are known as having a privaterelay.appleid.com address. That’s the one that has a Go subscription.
The easiest solution for now is to use the Sign in with Apple option when signing in to the SketchUp iPad app. That should then use the privaterelay.appleid.com email.
If you didn’t intend to hide your Apple ID email from Trimble, try this reddit post to see if you can do the steps they did to make it be the real email address:
Excellent Colin, thank you. All restored back to normal. I don’t remember ‘selecting’ the ‘hide my email’ option but I understand the principle and will try to revert my Apple account to share my email.
Thank you for deleting my email from this post, a bit of an error on my part there. Lesson learned.
Thanks again.
If when you set it to use your Apple ID, there is then a problem you may hit, where the subscription is still assigned to the privaterelay email.
While it is set up that way you could sign in with Apple to this page:
Under Members, add your real Apple ID email to the list, and click the three dots to assign the subscription to that email address. It should then work if you sign in with Trimble, and would still work after you change the hide my email settings.
Unfortunately, to ever get back to the account page you would need to sign in with the privaterelay email, so make a note of that before you change the email settings.
Ok, thank you again. I’ll take the safe option an continue with my Apple login. This on the basis that if it ain’t broke……..
