You have a template in SKP with Scenes and Tags already built in. You adjust these (usually just a Zoom Extents, maybe tweak a few tags) and then ‘Send to Layout’. You pick your LayOut Template and the scenes populate the views you have setup on all the pages.
For a document like this one in the video I would update the project name then put a few dimensions on the plan and maybe the section view, then Export to PDF, save the LO file, and email it off to the client.
I have several of these built with all my client’s logos and inofmration built in - so depending on what I’m doing I just pick the template, delete any pages or views I don’t need, tweak the text, add some notes and off it goes.
For 1 page I have likely taken longer recording the video and typing this reply than it would to prepare and export once I had a template setup.
It sounds like you start with a dummy sketchup file which already has drawing in it, and is already linked to a layout file when you start drawing a new project. I’m not sure what it means to relink . . . Or do you just start with the blank sketchup template you created with your own scenes and tags?
I just completed the Layout Essentials and the Layout Design Package. I see how I can be more efficient. Things are almost coming into focus.
Basically yes. There’s already a .skp file inserted into the LayOut template. The reference .skp file is listed in Document Setup>References. To relink it, select the file, click Relink, and choose your project file.
