+++EDIT: this happens to a duplicated (save-as) LO file +++
bug report:
Inserting Auto-Text into an existing text element failed when using these steps:
menu>Text>Insert Auto-Text> (selecting a predefined auto-text).
The autotext that I want to insert is of the type “Custom Text”.
LO version 26.2.243, on PC
Henrik – I tried to replicate this but can’t.

I found that the bug happens after duplicating a LO file with “save as” ***.
The copied child-file contains all the auto-text that the parent-file had, as expected.
However, in the child-file, the insertion of that pre-established auto text via the menu:text>insert Auto-Text is not working.

I am now splitting up my architectural documentation into several files. it is an attempt to overcome slow LO performance when the complete project was kept in a single file…
I followed your steps and Text > Insert Auto-Text appears to be working for my files…
