How to transfer Auto-text pairings from one file to another

More specifically, form scrapbook editor to a LayOut file? Can the Auto-text pairings that get set up in the scrapbook editor be copied and pasted in the LO file?

If an entity containing auto-text is inserted into a document that does not already have associated auto-text tags, then those tags will be automatically inserted as well. This is true when inserting via scrapbook or via copy-paste from one document to another.

I have revised the scrapbook VP titles several times and not found the auto-text pairs in the LO document. Is there an “update scrapbook” button I am missing?

Thank you, Adam.

To understand this better, I ask you if the following statement is true? If auto-text is in use in a LayOut file and one or more instances of auto-text is already defined in Document Setup then the act of importing anything with auto-text is stripped of the auto-text and would have to be edited into the document in Doc Setup?

Thanks!

@Sambones,

I am not sure I understand your question; are you asking about what happens when LayOut entities from a scrapbook or copy-pasted from a document are inserted into another document that has some shared auto-text? If so, then any auto-text tag that doesn’t exist in the document is added to the auto-text tag list, and any auto-text tag that does exist is updated to display what the new document shows for that tag.

I hope that makes sense,
Adam
