Several times a day my inferencing stops working and I don’t know where I am clicking. It happens with all tools, which makes the tape measure tool impossible. After a few minutes, it comes back. I have no idea why but it is incredibly annoying. I have had this happen on multiple models.
Has anyone else experienced this?
yes, it’s a non-unique situation
for some people it seems to go away simply by saving. I’ve had this a couple of times, it went away by going to do something else for 2-3 min then coming back to sketchup.
I don’t know if it has been logged as an actual bug, but it’s problematic that it’s not simple to reproduce.
I don’t remember this happening in previous versions. I feel like this has only been happening to me the past few months.
Anyway, good to know it isn’t just me.

I still see this on a regular basis with the current build of 2025. I posted in another thread that clicking on the Desktop to activate the Finder, then clicking on the SU window to activate SU will re-enable snapping and inferencing again. At least for a short while until the bug kicks in again.
There was something put into an update of 2024, that should still be in 2025, to help reduce the chances of inferencing being lost. If you have exact steps to make the problem start to happen, please let me know.
I see it often, still can’t really provide a step by step. Sometimes I work for half hour, sometimes 10 minutes.
Happens to me all the time haha. About 8 times today in the last few hours. I tried to move a line over and snap it to a point and it would constantly delete my line haha, or the inference along any direction stops
