I updated to 2024 SketchUp a few weeks ago and I’m having real issues when I start a new file. The problem below doesn’t occur with existing documents made in SketchUp 2022.
When I open a new file (I’ve tried opening my own template and multiple default templates), I can orbit around and zoom in/out and then all of a sudden the zoom stops working and I get stuck. The orbit still works but when I either use the scroll wheel on my mouse or choose the zoom tool from the toolbar, it doesn’t work. I’ve then also tried using other tools and they don’t work either.
On a few occasions, I’ve copied models from a 2022 file into 2024 and when I paste, it appears to have pasted but I can’t see it anywhere.
There are lots of weird things happening since I’ve updated to 2024 and I’m not loving it! I’m having issues with the inferences also.
I haven’t encountered those problems, so just guessing and raising questions to try to diagnose.
Can you share an example skp where you have these issues? Is there content in the model when this happens, or does it also happen for a completely empty model? When you try other tools, do the cursor and the prompts at the bottom of the window change to the ones for the activated tool? When you say “don’t work”, do you mean that nothing at all happens when you click?
What version of macOS Sonoma are you running? There have been several updates to fix issues. I am on 14.7.
It happens on completely empty models so I don’t have an example skp.
Yes the cursor changes to the tool I’ve selected but when I click, nothing happens at all. The only tool that works is the orbit, that’s when I use the wheel on the mouse and when I select it from the toolbar.
