When importing Sketchup models into Layout at a specific scale to produce architectural drawings the text comes out far too big and overlaps other items. In the original SketchUp model they are much smaller in relation to the model.
Is there any way of resizing them in Layout? I want to keep them readable in the original SketchUp model.

No. No way to adjust SU text in LO. You would need to make the adjustments in SU. Better would be to just add the text in LO.
@DaveR makes a valid point: if you are going to work in Layout anyway, it makes little sense to add annotation in SketchUp. Do it in Layout where you have more control.
