I need to do a drawing/illustration for the library, for which I will use procreate.
However, I need an accurate reference, and selfishly am hoping that there is a faster way than me trying to recreate this building with only photos and a very inaccurate “as built” plan.
I need to put this meeting booth into the corner, and I only have a current photo with the shelving still in place. I am more than capable of drawing around the things I don’t need (shelves), what I’m having the most trouble with is getting the perspective correct for the pod and chairs.
Match Photo could work to allow you to rough in the walls. It’s too bad the book shelves can’t be moved for the photo.
I did a quick Match Photo setup with the image. (I would do that separately and get it set up properly. Draw in the walls and then copy the pod component into the model.
This is very rough and I didn’t do much detailing on the walls. Just got something in to guide placing the pod.

You can turn off the Match Photo images in the Modeling settings for the style once you are finished with it but you can always bring the images back if needed.
@DaveR had got you well on your way here. I’ll just mention one quick trick I use when pressed to turn out something like this quickly which is to apply the match photo material to surfaces. Then select those surfaces and adjust the applied texture (generally scale up and zoom in) to only feature a section of the image that does not contain what I choose to omit. It’s a down and dirty process but can yield passable results quickly. Here is a file to play with.
I was just doing March Photo and I placed your model into the matched photo scene - but Dave beat me to it.
You could also ‘cheat’ by using the image as a watermark - the issue though is that the verticals are not plumb, so it’s hard to adjust the camera view to show the pod in the correct perspective as you’d have to pitch the blue axis to match the photo - but you could edit the photo in Ps or similar and correct the verticals, then add the photo as a watermark (background) and orbit / position the pod until it’s close to looking right - you might have to play with the FOV.
I do this sometimes with client images for additions / etc.
I managed to get a decent line drawing. I know the window perspective is off, but the amount of money being offered for this commission means I need to spend as little time on it as possible, so this is the way it’s staying.
