are you trying to keep the legs flat and have the sphere welded on the top of it?
The sphere i made. I later rescaled to make it a bit bigger. Now I dont remember how much i enlarged it by. How do i find the radius of the circle which was used to make the sphere.
i managed to do something like. go to view and turn on xray. and then from the inside, i measured from the center to center top to bottom. that works too right?
Use the Solid Tools (Pro only, but your profile says you have Pro) or a better plugin like Eneroth Solid Tools, (which keeps components instead of converting them to groups).
Move the tenon into position. Then Subtract the tenon from the leg.

sometimes it doesnt let me select the component. what might be the causes?
What happens? Nothing selected? Any error message?
You’ll get an error if either of the pieces you are using in the Subtract operation is not a solid.
The Solid Inspector 2 plugin will help you find what’s wrong if your component or group is not a solid.
One reason I found out was if the component is not a complete solid/not filled in.
Second: If two or more components are inside the primary component.
And then I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t able to select a simple cube.I drew it from the outline of a circle.
I’ve managed to finish the connection models though. Thank you.
Solid tools can only work with one ‘original’ component and one ‘subtract’ component at one time. So if they are both in a larger component, open that for editing, then select one ‘original’ and one ‘subtract this from…’ component.There may be other explanations.
Can you upload a model that exhibits this behaviour?
It was an original component and a subtract component. I just drew another cube over it and deleted the not working one. Then it worked. Mayb I did something wrong.
