I need help, all my SketchUp file on iPad went missing. I was using yesterday, but when i want to continue my work today i cant find any files. I have search SketchUp file on MyFiles but they are no where to be found. Is there a way to find all of my missing files?
Hello @gnrcj552ng, let me see if I can help find where your files may have gone. Can you please share what version of the app you are using and if your files were saved to Trimble Connect or some other location on your ipad?
Hello @rene_fresquez, Iâm using version 6.5.7 the latest version in App store. I tried checking both Trimble connect and files but none of the seem to appears.
All my SketchUp files on my iPad are gone. I was working on a file when a pop-up appeared saying there was a problem and it couldnât t be saved (I donât remember the exact message). When I went back to the home screen in the app, all my files were missing.
I only use my iPad for my work, and my files were not backed up to iCloud because my storage is full. Is there any way to recover them?
The models that you see in the Home Screen are recent files you have worked on. The files themselves are either on your iPad or in Trimble Connect. If you touch the cloud icon on the left, to see your Trimble Connect projects, do you then see your files?
No I cannot find them anywhere. They always auto save to my iPad. After the crash, they are missing from my sketchup application and they are no longer in my files on my iPad. Iâve had a year worth of drawings now gone
Thank you for sharing these. It looks like from this screenshot there is no âSketchUpâ folder in your files app, which is where I would expect locally created files to be. If you create a new model from the home page (house icon), does a SketchUp folder show up in your files app? Also, just to update you and others here, we are actively reviewing recent work across iPad and Web where users are seeing some issues like this. In some cases, just the list of recent files was reset (no files should have been deleted, just like resetting your browser history). In your case I am looking into why the local files and folders appear to be missing.
Same issue here, couldnât save a model I was working on (error code), I left the model after repeated attempts to save, then all my models were gone back at the homepage. No files found on my iPad, or Trimble connect. Please advise how I can find them!
EXACT same issue here. ALL files gone from my iPad - no locally saved files, no nothing. I literally worked on them without issue across the last few days but today, nothing there - itâs as if I installed the app from scratch.
SketchUpâs email support on basically may as well have said âtough luckâ. Safe to say that I wonât be renewing this year.
Iâve tried all of the steps as per your earlier instructions and Iâve got nothing. I even still had space on my iCloud but all of my locally saved files are gone.
Hope you find a way or a reason as to why this happened. Iâve lost three major pieces of work.
I dont know what to say, i have been drawing for a whole week to redraw all my previous missing files, just to end up losing it again. T.T
But this this time when i was drawing my sketch up freeze while i was importing from the 3D warehouse. While i was waiting a notification pops out saying â file could not be savedâ and the only option is to dismiss the pop up notification. right after i dismiss the file close automatically and they sent me back to home screen where all my file are gone, i check again on my files but the skecth up folder has gone missing like it was auto deleted. I dont know what to say T.T
Hello @rene_fresquez, when i create new file after missing everything, the skecth up folder appear again on my iPad. But the content inside was only 1 file that i save earlier.
Iâm facing the same - months of work is gone. Hope the sketchup team soon will find the bug and a way to fix it. For me it happened after the latest iOS update.
I received a reply from pro support basically saying âwe donât know why this happened and there is likely no way to retry the lost filesâ this is extremely disappointing. I have moths of work lost with no answers.
