Nope, thatâs not supposed to be happening. Ill be looking into this today. In the mean time, go to Preferences> General, and turn on âShow only urgent notificationsâ that will limit in-product notifications to only critical version updates and time sensitive notifications, as Dezmo pointed out.
Its a new system that we can handle on our side, so Ill be reporting this to the team and work to adjust how/when the notifications are popping.

The problem is the pop-up. It wasnât there last year, and now hip-hop is there. We do not like pop ups. The issue exactly âThe Pop-upâ itself. That should not be there.
Talk to the person who put it there to take it down. Thatâs it. 
I have a question for users on this thread, and I suspect I know the answer but want to ask anyway. Is the issue the form factor alone (an intrusive pop-up) or is there issue with the content as well? Each of the guides posted about here are meant to share something new that SketchUp is offering.
Ideally the content is timed to appear a moment that should be relevant to someoneâs work (for example after exporting an image it might be useful to learn about the improvements to AI render), and in this case as Ted noted, the timing and persistence of the pop-up is not working as intended. In general notifications like these would be seen once and dissapear (unless you specifically chose to snooze till later). It sounds obvious to me as I write this but Iâm hearing we should steer clear of any kind of info pop-ups during a âworkingâ moment (like in the middle of drawing something).
So, the last question I have is, which of the following locations would you prefer to find this kind of informational content about new features?
- On-demand (maybe by asking the help assistant)
- In-app Help Center (maybe in the Search bar)
- Keep it in the Online Help Center
- A minimal pop-up that lets you expand when ready
- Somewhere else (reply with a suggestion)

Iâm paying for Pro. I donât want to see these at all. Maybe at the welcome / initial screen and thatâs it.

If you decide that these might be valuable to new users you should consider âguide modeâ or something that can be turned 100% off for experienced users.
I had to switch to QuickBooks online for my business accounting and invoicing. They do this â â â â on nearly every page of the app, even though Iâm using the âdesktopâ version of the interface. It sucks. I donât want offers for financing or to learn about how AI can duplicate my registers and completely fuck up my books. I want tools to work without this bullshit. My hammer never stopped me from driving nails with a pop-up âIt looks like you are driving nails, would you be interested in upgrading to a pneumatic nail gun?â

If you break this rule, and force a popup to users, always make it dead easy for any user to permanently disable the popup within the popup itself via a prominent switch.
You could label the switch e.g.:

Although I havenât seen discussed popup (not even in latest Windows desk version (*)) I do hate popups that arenât asked for. There must be better ways to inform (new and learning) users via âHelpâ or âInstructorâ or whatever.

To me popups are like the intrusive ads that are now jammed into almost every page on the web. They break the flow of the page, are usually irrelevant (regardless of how activity tracking has concluded they are something you might be interested in), and often arrive after most of the page has loaded, causing the content to jump. This sort of self-serving notice should be static in one place such as the opening page or help menu and should open only when the user asks for it.
I donât know when marketers will realize that these intrusive advertising (like) messages trigger the exact opposite reaction in most people than the âadvertiserâ originally intended.
My reaction is usually:
[self censored]. I wonât even look at it for that reason, even it would be really interesting.
So, it could be nano banana or micro-orange, hyper super realistic, I donât care.
