I am using SketchUp Pro for several years now. I think since the last update the thumbnails I used to see in my file list on my iMac were replaced with the sketchup logo.
Can somebody tell me how I can get the thumbnails back? Is there a setting I have to change?
Click on the P in the green circle at the top right of the forum page. Then the person icon, Preferences, and Profile. After completing and updating remember to scroll to the bottom and click the Save button.
I just tested, and although the qlmanage command utility still runs in macOS 26, it doesnât show any SketchUp thumbnail generator. I will try reinstalling the latest SU 2026 later to see whether that fixes the problem, but it may be that the devs forgot to register the generator.
Hey, did you find a solution? Iâm with macOS 26 and SU 26 running without seeing the miniatures of SU files. I tested the qlmanage thing and nothing appeared. In fact, I tested various tutorials said here in the forums and nothing worked.
I just updated to MacOS Tahoe 26.4 and the thumbnails arenât working. But thereâs something strange that I noticed in my iMac 2021 M1, since I updated to Tahoe (when the problem started) I canât find a quicklook file. Some tips I read here in forums were saying about an alternative path to solve the question by searching for quicklook in the finder or in the system settings and when I did that nothing was found. Itâs possible my Mac doesnât have the quicklook?
The way QuickLook is done was changed a few macOS versions ago. The last several versions of SketchUp do it the new way, which doesnât involve a QuickLook file that you can find.
I saw what you had written, and so looked up what it is that you should be able to find. The file inside SketchUp.app that does QuickLook is âSketchUpThumbnailExtension.appexâ.
