I am not able to save a SketchUp drawing

I have been working with a design for some hours and saved it a couple of times, but now all of a sudden it is not possible to save. A window pops up with the text ;

SketchUp
Failed to save file

What did I do wrong?

Where are you trying to save the file to?

if you’re saving to a network location or external drive see if you can save to the desktop of your machine

if the above doesn’t work, see if you’re using any special characters in the file naming, if so omit those

Thanks for your answer. First I tried to save it on a dropbox account, then I tried saving to my desktop and with no odd caracters, but it did not work. Any other suggestions?

First, you should not save directly to Drop Box or any other cloud/network location. Save locally and upload to that other location afterward.

What SketchUp version? What operating system?

DO NOT CLOSE THE WINDOW WITH THE SU MODEL CONCERNED.

Open another (new) SU model window (I hope, you have the option ticked to be able to have multiple sessions of SU running). Go to the model concerned, make sure you’ve selected show hidden and are showing all layers, ie. nothing in the model must not be showing.

Select all (Windows: ctrl+A; Mac: option+A if I recall correctly). then go to the new SU model file, paste in place. Try to save the new model file to your desktop with a short & simple name.

Apart from that, I have nothing…
