How to make a legend with the materials in LO

hi, i am trying to make a legenda of the materials in a table.
but how do you do something like that i cant get it done?

What kind of materials are you referring to?

I would create a spreadsheet in Excel and import that, personally.

Make a SKP scene with your materials. Insert into LO.
Make a text block, leaders, or table with the text you want.

Arrange the SKP views next to the table.

A take off of Mike’s suggestion. In this case onve scene/viewport of material swatches in SketchUp, labeled in LayOut using autotext tags for the label text and transparent leaders.

@DaveR Where did you get the names of the label materials from? Directly from the property name of the materials or the swatches are groups/components named after the materials or …

For this quick example I made a component for each swatch named for the material applied to the face but I guess you could take the time to give the swatch components a dynamic component property for the material and use that instead.

I figure this isn’t the sort of thing that would change often but if a swatch did need to be edited it is trivial to edit the component definition name to match the new material.

OK Thanks, I have tried with dynamic components, like your suggestion, but I have not been able to extract the material property with the layout label tool.

I have an alternative solution, creating a custom attribute referenced to the material attribute, but the material must be applied to the component and not to the faces as I would prefer.

I think the material attribute should be accessible through the layout label tool.

I guess it would be good to be able to access the material on the face, too. For something like what I showed it seems easy enough to just use the component definitions. If I wanted to make something like this on a regular basis from a common set of materials, I might make a component collection of these swatches and just drag out the ones I need for a project. And of course they could be edited easily enough to add materials.
