How to import a .skp drawing from previous use of Sketchup?

Apologies if this is already in the tutorials or FAQ - I couldn’t locate it

How do I get a .skp file created a couple of years ago into the version of Sketchup I have just downloaded please?

TIA

All you need to do is open it. SketchUp will automatically update the file to the version you are using.

Thanks for the swift reply.

The ‘hamburger’ menu only has these items, none of which seem to give the opportunity to open an existing local file

About
Account
New model
Trimble connect
Add location
3d warehouse

For the web version, go to the folder icon next to the hamburger and choose insert, then follow the prompt to your file.

Edit: moved to the web category.
