How to cut a continous hole through planks of wood

Hello!

I’m trying to design an outdoor table for a big green egg. I planned to use 6" wide cedar planks, and need to cut out a 26.5" hole from them. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. I’ve tried grouping them, not grouping them, components…what am I missing?

Probably the easiest thing would be to draw a big cylinder the diameter of the hole and use it like a big drill with the Solid Tools or better Trim from Eneroth Solid tools to cut the plank components.

Is there a tutorial on that? This is my first project and I started using sketchup this week. I’ve been through most of the videos but havent come across this yet

Working with what you had in your file, I deleted the joint lines. Push-pulled to the bottom. Delete the joint lines there. Deleted the bottom face.

Top converted to components and cut as described earlier. From this a useful cutlist could be created and other details added. I did a little fleshing out but not all of it.

Thank you! that was so easy!
