How to create a two axis bezier curved handrail

I’ve been trying for a few days to manually recreate a shape from an image, but I realize that I need some guidance. I hope you can help. I’m trying to create a rectangle 28x28mm with a bezier curve on two axis (top view and front view) with a twist…? The shape is therefore similar to a square handrail, but rather than being a gradual incline it is somewhat “exponential”. With the starting point at the top-middle of the backrest. The top rail increasingly curves downwards and towards the front of the chair, while the top and bottom of the rail stay parallel to the seat.

The chair that I’m trying to model is shown in the image below. The section that I struggle with is within the red rectangle - The back corner before is starting to slope down on the side.

Hope someone can help.

I would start with a box and add control points for the curve on the surface. Then erase the box leaving the curve. Fredo6’s Bezier Spline tool used for this.

Using Fredo6’s Bezier tool:

Edit: a rudimentary example of what @DaveR recommended (only control points at the corners).
