How to bend a rectangular object on to a curved wall?

Hello everyone first time poster here and like many of you a self taught designer.

I have a project which I need to bend the object which is label as “Acoustic Panel” In the project

I need to bend it to a wall which is curved

I have tried to look up tutorials on how to do this in the free version yet I haven’t had any luck in finding any tutorials.

first of is it possible to do in the Web Free version ?

and if so can someone please walk me through it preferably with pictures or a video so I can follow along.

Thank you in advance.

Don’t try to bend the panel, create a radial array of the slats using Rotate/Copy and rotate about the center of the arc of the wall. Make as many as you need. I just made 12 copies here.
array
Make the backing for the panel the same way you made the curved wall.

33 or 34 copies spaced accordingly might suffice.

Hi DaveR

Thank you for the quick and detailed reply !

I will give that go

Kind regards,
Jonathan.

I have tried to follow along with your explanation however when I try to use the protractor and lock the plane my lines from the protractor don’t follow along the curved wall and instead show up outside the curved wall

I have looked at the setup of your demonstration and it seems that your protractor is setup differently

is the marker that you setup on the wall directly on the wall ? of is it off the wall

I have mine directly in the centre of the curved wall and the protractor shows up like this

I will await your reply.

Kind regards.

You have two possibilities for distributing those wooden bars, the first aligned on a board, and the second on a curve (what Dave already showed you).

In both cases, SU stuck when I used Offset, but you can get an idea of what steps you can take to create that model.

Hello Mihai.s

Thank you for the detailed video, I will give that a try and get back to you with how I go.

Kind Regards.

The protractor needs to be at the center of the ARC, not the wall.

And in this specific case on the blue axis, which it is not in the screenshot.

You need to learn the fundamentals.

This is a simple example of a radial array on a specific arc.
Note the arc and the group are separate. I select the group the use the Rotate tool (not the protractor) on the blue axis to array the copies around the centre of the arc.
