It’s been more than a week, I’m still confused here how to determine that yes the direction is right with the object I want to bend on my destination line using the shapebender sketchup 2024 plugin. Repeatedly I tried to left click on any side but it didn’t work to become an object with a new shape. Please provide a solution
How about hitting Enter to complete the bending. That works here.
yes I know but after pressing ‘enter’ on the keyboard there is no reaction, it even seems like I have to repeat it before executing the plugin command, the shadow shape also disappears

can you try executing it directly on my project object? try on both curved lines, is it possible or not?
this is in skp2024
Your model is placed at a huge distance from the origin. Over 600 meters. This has an impact on the graphics.
I reset the axes to their default location and moved the model to the origin. I also moved the two extra copies of the straight stair component away to leave just the one.
FWIW, you really ought to clean up your straight stair component and simplify it. Currently it is made up of nested objects and loose geometry. Clean it up and make a single solid component of it before you bend it. It’ll look nicer and it’ll be easier to work with.
Umm, can you send me the finished file so I can study it first?
Sorry. I didn’t save it. Just reset the axes and move your model to the origin. Then you should be able to use Shape Bender with no problem.
I don’t understand what is meant by how to simplify the object, for example here it looks like there is an open cavity so one of the triggers is not being able to use shapebender?
Ah, this works and is really easy, basically you have to return the axis to its original position and just move it closer, right?
You’ve got multiple, unneeded objects in your top level component. Explode all of those inner ones and then erase the unneeded edges and faces.
No! That has absolutely nothing to do with Shape Bender not working as you expect. It’s that you’ve screwed up your model by placing the axes and your model more than half a kilometer from the origin.
The missing face(s) on the end are due to the way you’ve created groups/components of individual faces within the stair component and some other sloppiness in your modeling process.
