Only default material applied to model.

Black Material1 not used and 100% opaque.

Does that mean ~ ONLY deflt allowed …
. or yu must Assigm mat’l before ?

One confusing thing in the materials palette is that you can change the opacity value of the default material. It doesn’t have any effect, but leaves you thinking that it should.

If you duplicate the default material you can then change the opacity and see a difference, but each time you do that a new material is made.

To do glass you could either pick an existing material from the Glass and Mirrors section, or you could duplicate the default material and then right-click on the new material and choose Edit. If you change the opacity it will update anything in the model that is already using that material, without creating a new material.

GLASS seems io require way more PC 'gymnastics than it’s worth. Thanks anyway!
