thanks, need to get show glass materials like they have in the professional CAD renderings.
That also is possible, but like other cad programs requires a rendering program. There are some useful threads here if you search for render.

I did the same steps; once with ‘block’, [P/P shape],

What View mode do you have set up ?
Monochrome doesn’t show materials.
Can you paint with other materials and see those colors ?
Is Material Transparency checked in the Style dialog ?
If not, then all materials will look solid !
Edit the current Style and save changes.
Use one of the shipped glass materials - it’s premade for you…

Hmmm… in that case I think @TIG and others are on the right track about you being set to a monochrome style or another style setting. Try the things he suggested, can you paint any other color or texture? Check that you are set to view>face style> shaded with textures.
