How I using solid tool to cut the table face in half? (image inlcuded)

I want to cut the table in half so I can easily make a component and mirror it.

The table must be a single solid and the cutting block must be a solid, a single face cannot be a solid.

In it’s most basic form.
Simple solid subtract
