How do I add 3d fonts in GO?

I added some True Type fonts to my PC. I don’t find them available for either Text insert or 3D Text. An example would be one called “Bulletproof.” I use these fonts for CNC plasma cutting. A, R, O, P, B, D and Q have centers that fall out with normal fonts, whereas “cargo” or “military” type fonts have relief cuts that keep the centers in.

My fonts work in Word and other programs so they are on the machine. I searched videos and help topics on adding fonts but none were specifically for SU GO. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

You cannot add fonts for text in the Web versions of SketchUp. The fonts are supplied by the application. To use your system fonts you would need to be using the desktop version of SketchUp.

Thank you Dave. I used Desktop versions years ago. I really liked the desktop layout and menus. Started with Go in 2021 i think. I use the paid version because I have to export to DXF file to run CNC software. I may consider looking into PRO, although I don’t sell or use it for business, just hobby. Any advice on best version for making DXF’s and adding fonts?

You’re welcome.

As for the best version, there’s only one desktop version. At this point in time it would be SketchUp 2025. The choice would be either a Pro subscription or a Studio subscription. Most likely the Pro subscription will give you everything you need.

Thank you for your time. I really appreciate it. I will do some trials and see how it goes. I can see from my all my searching you are a great blessing to this forum!

Thank you!

Good luck with it.

FWIW, the desktop version also includes LayOut which can do CAD exports and there are loads of extensions that you might find useful for some of your modeling.
