how do i add a font to sketchup so i can use it for 3d text
SketchUp uses the fonts installed in the Windows Fonts folder so you install new fonts there.
In the Windows search bar type Font Settings.
Follow the instructions under Add fonts.

hope you can help. i see a bunch of fonts available in my windows folder but none are showing up on sketchup.
i am using the web version i don’t know if there’s a full version or not.
it doesn’t show anywhere on sketchup where to “add fonts” or import fonts or anything
any advice would be great thank you.
The web versions use a fixed set of fonts. They don’t use your system fonts. You would need SketchUp for desktop (Pro or Studio) to be able to use system fonts.
