Starting from this post about dwg and faces
Creating faces in an imported dwg file. Once all geometry is properly grouped and tagged (different methods - native tools/extensions), faces can be easily created, without sticky geometry/triple click problems.
The tags are for visibility control, they do not separate the raw geometry in SketchUp, just like in AutoCAD.
