Hidden? Gone forever!

I rarely hide parts of my models (instead move them away) cause I forget I ever built that part.
But this time I hid a large group (and yes I’m sure I built it) and now it is gone. Gone! I scanned the outliner. Gone. I turned on hidden geometry. Gone.
Is this a bug in SU? Have others had this problem?

No, you may have deleted it.

Was it a component? Open the component window / pallet and if you haven’t purged drag it back into your model…

Are you using tags?

By scanning ‘Outliner’ you may be right in that you have deleted that part instead of hiding it.
But turning on (viewing) ‘Hidden Geometry’ is not enough.
To be sure also turn on ‘Hidden Objects’.

And turn on all layers and disable ‘Section Cut’.

I’m guessing you might have hit Erase instead of Hide. They are one above the other in the Context menu. I’ve seen others report that in the past.

How do you turn on Hidden Objects?

Look under ‘Display’ > ‘View’ …(turn on or off): ‘Hidden Objectes’ / Hidden Geometry’ / ‘Section Planes’ / ‘Section Cuts’ etc
Anyway, where you turned on ‘Hidden Geometry’.
