Hdri Maps - Vray

Hi all,

I’m new to V-Ray and have obtained an HDRI map from Google Street View. I’d like to replace a house in the map with a 3D model of a house I’ve modelled. Are there any online tutorials?

What is your end goal with having a 3D model inside of a Google Street View 360 panorama? - Note that a 360 panorama is not the same thing as an HDRI. HDRI’s are 360 images as well, but contain multiple exposures and are used for realistic environmental lighting for rendering.

I have seen this video. i was thinking if I could do something similar on vray for sketchup.

After creating the HDRI out of a street map following the steps on the tutorial you can do it on Sketchup and V-Ray, but you´ll have to use the dome light as a finite Shpere or Hemisphere, to make the objects look like they´re on the floor of the HDRI

In that case, does the HDRI emit any lighting? Or do you need to take care of the lighting seperatly?

The HDRI emits its own light but you could add some lights and make them invisible to have better shadows. Also if you don’t have an adobe subscription you can use Gimp or Krita instead of photoshop for the steps that require an image manipulation software, those are free and have the same tools and very similar UI.
