Hi guys, I was provided a CAD .dwg file and purchased Sketchup Go (web version). The import is not working. File looks like it’s successfully importing, and then nothing shows up. Any ideas why my file won’t load?
Try hitting Zoom Extents after the import completes. It might be that the camera is zoomed in to close or not close enough. Keep in mind that SketchUp won’t import all CAD entity types.
Can you share the dwg file to see if it opens on the desktop version using native tools.
check your import status window.
first thing is, when you choose to import your file, don’t keep the file’s origin. otherwise your file might end up several km away from your project (it’s the first option when you import)
then, as it imports, you’ll see this.
once it’s done importing, it won’t place itself on your model. unlike SU pro.
if you still have the import window up, you can click on the small button on the right to import it.
if not you can go back to the import menu, and open the status panel
also, make sure you’re importing it at the right scale.
the file above I imported as “model units”. so it imported in cm.
but prior to that I imported it as metre :
as a result it’s far and big.
