Getting an error 111 code when trying to save

I opened a scrapbook with 3D arrows, the one that comes with LayOut and it told me it was an old incompatible file from 2016 and now I can’t save and get this error 111.

Any workaround besides reverting to saved?

Thanks!!

A quick search for ‘Mac save error 111’ turns up a lot of hits for this. From what I can see, it has to do with lack of permission to save to the selected location. You probably can’t save to the Application’s Scrapbook folder. If you have edited the scrapbook, instead of trying to overwrite the shipped version, it would probably be better to save it as a new scrapbook in the user scrapbook folder. That way if you ever have a need to reinstall SketchUp and LayOut you won’t lose your changes to the shipped scrapbooks. You can also then copy the user Scrapbook along with the Templates folder to paste into the equivalent location for the next version or on another computer.

Thanks Dave!

I don’t think I tried to save, I just hit the edit button on the scrapbook out of curiosity, because I have never edited one, I am still very new to SU and LO but it certainly created a problem that seems more like a bug than a mistake. Anyhow I reverted and it’s working fine now, I will troubleshoot this with a new document not to keep messing my working one.
You are the best!

Do a search for the terms I showed above and look at other reports. The 111 error is not specific to LayOut. If it’s a bug, I would consider it a bug in the operating system.

What did you revert to? A scrapbook is just a LayOut file saved to a location that LayOut uses to populate the Scrapbooks panel.

I reverted to the last LayOut file saved before the error 111 message, the message had the look of LayOut, it did not look like a Mac error window, don’t know if that’s relevant or not. I did not loose much work, 30min at the most. I did not mess with scrapbooks anymore. I need to watch a few tutorial before editing and creating any. I am just using the basic Section Icons for this project, it’s a simple kitchen with floor plans, views and perspective.
Thanks
