Geolocate Model (Add Location)

I’m creating a new topic. Related topic is linked here.

The GPS pin doesn’t appear within the window after selecting the address. And then the select region box is not over the GPS pin when the Import Site Content window opens.

I went to the same location shown in your first screen shot. The pin is placed at the center of the zip code region.

Narrowing it down to MO-B, Goodman, MO puts the pin as shown next.

From there I dragged the pin near the fence row in the field.

When you set this up move the pin to the point in the location that you want to correspond to the origin in SketchUp. Since the address you’ve given isn’t very precise you’ll have to move the pin to where you want it to be before you get the site context. Also move the image so the pin is centered in the Add Location window.

Here I put in an exact address and the pin winds up directly at that point on the street.

An exact address was used. The GPS pin was original on the street. When I moved the pin to the house, it cleared out the street address and only kept the town, state, and zip code.

I usually move the site imagery (Geolocation Content) in SketchUp. Is that causing my problem?

When you move the pin onto the structure you are moving it from the recognized address. As my scrrenshot showed, the address is identified as on the road.

I expect that’s at least a contributing factor. The intent is that you’ll put the pin at the point in the imagery that you want to be located at the origin (crossing point of the axes in their default location) in SketchUp.

Hi @donneyc yep, the geolocation content shouldn’t be moved in SketchUp, ideally, but your model instead
