Geo-Location feature returns log-in error

When I try to add a Geo-Location, instead of the location loading, I receive an error stating that I must log-in to SketchUp even though I’m already logged in (my account login green checkmark deactivates when I select Group-Location):

“Sorry! You must be logged in.
Please close this window and sign in to SketchUp by clicking on the Account icon.
Look for it in the upper right corner of the modeling window.”

Does anyone have any suggestions…I’m using a MacOS Sketchup Pro

First I would try logging out and logging back in again.

I’ll give that a try! Thanks, Anssi.

hello,
did you find the solution ? Thanks

Hey Folks

The recent upgrade of Trimble’s sign-in platform is causing this message for a lot of people. The solution is to:

  1. Sign out of SketchUp,
  2. Restart the app,
  3. Sign back in. Add location should work again

Sorry for any inconvenience
Bryce

This seems to be an ongoing issue for me. I get a window instructing me to sign in. I am. Signed out and in as well. Re-loaded the program. Still no luck. Help…?

Yes, SketchUp. 2 years later…

Hi,

Sorry to hear this isn’t working for you

It’s important that you close SketchUp between signing out and sigining in, did you try that?

Dan

Yes - but it seems to have sorted itself out. I just got the reply today, 11 days later. I have signed in multiple times since, and used the Geo-locate feature about a week ago and it seemed to work out fine - I will make sure to close, sign in, and re-open. Thanks!

Glad you got it working!
