Generate Report in SU 2026.2.242 Mac is reporting in Fractional Inches even though Architectural units —feet, inches, and fractions of an inch— was selected for the report’s display units.
I also did some poking around and found that choosing a display unit of Feet or Engineering does generate the report in decimal feet. (i.e. 8’ vs 96").
I’ve included a simple test case model with both a saved “Lumber Totals” and “Lumber Cut List” report. I actually created this test based on Aaron’s "Nominal Size Material Reports in SketchUp" You Tube video released today (08/20/2026). In addition, I reviewed Aaron’s video a couple times and noticed that his report units was set to Architectural, but his reports were in inches. Funnily enough, I could tell by what Aaron was saying that he expected the report to show “total feet”, even though it showed “total Inches”.
In any case, my simple test model has multiple instances of a “template” 2x4, 2x6, and 2x8 component. The components all have a defined component length (component’s Z axis) of 1’ (12").
There are 3 instances of each 2x component at its normal defined 1’ (12") length. Three additional instances were scaled to be 2’ 6" long. Three more instances were scaled to be 3’ 3-3/4" long and laid down on the XY plane just to test how Generate report handles reporting the Component’s Z length, even when its oriented along the model’s green Y axis.
This is the report generated by the Lumber Totals report. Note that it is reporting in inches and not using the expected Architectural feet and inches units:
The 245 1/4" should be shown as 20’ 5 1/4" for the Architectural format.
This is the report generated by the Lumber Cut List report. Also note that its is reporting in inches and not in feet and inches:
Again, for the Architectural format, 12" should be 1’, 30" should be 2’ 6", and 39 3/4" should be 3’ 3-3/4".
Note that I even tried setting the model’s units to be Architectural, but the report still showed inches.
