We’ve used SketchUp for schools for multiple years and the program usually encounters lags as a project increase in complexity (importing items from 3D warehouse). This school year the program twitches into a white screen and freezes with the most basic of projects. Students are losing work and it has been a very very frustrating experience. I have also experience these system errors when working on a project of my own or assisting with student projects. The frequency of these system errors makes it more an program issue and not a user error. Could it be a setting with the newest version that is creating a hiccup with our school network? Looking for some technical support before we scratch SketchUp all together !

I am not sure what might be causing the white screen you are describing so I personally checked our web versions and did not see anything like what you are describing. I am happy to keep looking into the matter to help figure out the cause though. Can you send me a few example models that you or your students have seen the issue on? Maybe I can find some info by running a few tests on them.
Additionally, as far as the 3D Warehouse goes I am sure that you are already aware but you need to make sure to follow best practices as you import items from it. Not all content on the 3D Warehouse is suitible for use in all types of models so a little preventative work goes a long way to keep performance from dropping.
I will have them take a screenshot when it happens again. This happens with/without out any 3D warehouse items being downloaded. Also, I will send along their file for review. These won’t be very impressive projects, just basic introductory projects with 9th grade students. Thank you for the response.
