Free rendering plugins?

I am looking for a free rendering plug in for SU pro…
Anyone had any (glitch free) success with any?
There seems to be some stopper with those I’ve tried…

Thanks!

Does it have to be a “plugin”?

No.
I’m even willing to pay for a permanent headache free solution…

I’ve been using Kerkythea for years without any problems. It’s still available for free. Or look at the common ones like Vray, Thea, etc. Others will be along to recommend more. Try them for yourself and see what you think.

Thanks Dave will look into this!

Their site says this can be run as an extension …

Is this how you run it or are you opening it from the file menu in Kerkythea?

Below are the instructions from their site (which I cannot get to work):

For SketchUp 6, 7, 8, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 (Make or Pro)
To install SU2KT Ruby plugin script with the .rbz format:

  1. We recommend logging into your computer as an admin before installing any Ruby scripts.
This will make the installation go more smoothly and ensure that files get installed in the proper places.
  2. Select Window > Preferences (Microsoft Windows) or SketchUp > Preferences (Mac OS X). The Preferences dialog box is displayed.
  3. Click on Extensions. The Extensions panel is displayed.
  4. Click on the Install Extension button. The Open dialog box is displayed.
  5. Locate the SU2KT file to install (.rbz).
  6. Click on the Open button. The Ruby plugin appears in the list of extensions.
  7. Restart SketchUp.

SU2KT is an extension that has lights you can add to your SketchUp model along with some other features. It then can be used to export the required files and open Kerkythea. The rendering application is a stand alone, though. It opens in a separate window and runs as a separate program. Personally I prefer that to the rendering extensions that run “in” SketchUp because I can go back to my model and continue working while the render is running.
