Framing cutlist

I am new to open cutlist and would appreciate a tutorial on creating a framing cutlist or parts list. For example for a single wall with bottom plate and two top plates, a window and a door.

I’d like to know how to create the wall so the number of studs is automatically calculated. If I move copy a component and make 20 replicates, will the tool realize there are 20 studs? And for the cut studs around the door and window, how to evaluate different lengths of framing lumber to minimize the waste. I.e. do I want to use 12’ boards or 16’ boards. I’m using a mac interface if you are able demo on a Mac it would be helpful.

Draw all part as component and apply a material configured with type Dimensional on them.
