Format de fichier inattendu Sketchup PRO 2023

Thank you so much.
I didn’t purge my files indeed. I 'll update to SKP 2024, may be it will fix this problem. Have a good day and thanks again

Hi Colin, i saw that you were able to save some sketchup files. Can you try with mine?
I got the same problem for a school project and i have to finish it fast, i could not make it again…
Thanks.

If you update to SketchUp 2025 you can open it yourself. You’ve added a bad component to the model but SketchUp 2025 will take care of it.

Also fix incorrect tag usage. ALL edges and faces should be created AND REMAIN untagged. Only groups and components should be given tags.

Also purge the unused content from the file. There’s no point hoarding all that stuff.

Update to SketchUp 2025 and you should be able to open the file. V. 2025 reports some errors that it repairs.

:uk: broken files, asking the usual questions.

I looked at your files in a hex editor. There are large parts of both files that contain nothing but zeroes. These are a few screenshots showing that.

Unfortunately it doesn’t appear that there’s anything to recover in the file. If you need the model for tomorrow I think your best option is to start over. Save regularly to your internal drive and also to Trimble Connect to create an additional backup.

Yes. There’s certainly nothing we can do unless you share the SketchUp file.

What operating system are you using? 2021 is not an operating system. Are you using a cr acked version of SketchUp 2021? Where are you saving the file while working on it?

Hello and thank you for your reply.

I don’t know if it’s a pirated version, but I’m using an old version of SketchUp 2021 that I recovered from one of my old PCs for modeling.

Regarding my problem : It was originally saved on my PC, but to free up space and to be able to easily retrieve it if needed, I saved it to one of my drives. Without realizing it, I continued working on it, saving the changes to the file saved in the drive. I got an error message when I tried to open it the next day…

Thank you in advance.

That’s probably where the issue came from.

Your file is more than 50% filled with zeroes. The missing data is scattered throughout the file.

There’s no fixing that. You could try renaming the .skb backup file to .skp and see if it opens.

You should find out. That may have something to do with this, too.

Please correct your forum profile with the actual operating system and graphics card.

I’ve already tried, but the same error message appears…

So there’s nothing we can do ?

Thanks anyway :smiling_face_with_tear::folded_hands: I’ll update my profile…

No. The file is trash unfortunately.

I would suggest that you update to SketchUp 2026 with a current subscription su you have access to Trimble Connect. (Better handling of files, too.) Then, as you are working save to both the internal drive as well as Trimble Connect so you always have a backup to use if needed.

No choice, I’ll have to start all over again…

Thank you so much for your quick reply. :folded_hands:

I’m going to find out more immediately to don’t have this problem again.

Hello Colin,
