Hello, I’m trying to find a way to use the follow me tool on line segments. Is there a workaround available? It appears it only works with continuous curves, not fragmented segments. Any advice on a plugin if available? Thank you! See example.

Are you still using SketchUp 2021? Is it a cracked version?
Look at the example above to see what I’m attempting to do. No, it’s not a cracked version.
Follow Me won’t work across gaps in the path. In your set up it would make more sense to use Push/Pull to push the first distance without a path and then copy the resulting cylinder with Move/Copy as many times as you need.
Are there any plugins capable of doing what I need?
Nothing I’ve ever seen.
Another option, I guess, would be to run Follow Me over a long continuous path and then erase sections of the extrusion. What are you modeling?
It’s a baseboard. Since there are many doors, I was looking for a more efficient way to do it for every room.
TIG has made a lines to tubes extension that can substitute a set of edges with tubes. The Profile Builder extension might have a similar function.
For a baseboard I would run Follow Me around the entire room to make a solid object and then cut openins at the doors as required with “cutter blocks”.
I used Bool Tools 2 here but you can use the native Solid Tools or Eneroth Solid Tools too.
I thought of this option and attempted to subtract the solid groups from each other, but it failed. The error was, “one or more selected objects are either not solid or locked…etc” I’m unclear on this; what does it mean? The baseboard is fully closed off from the beginning to the end, and there are no stray edges.
Did you make a group or component of the baseboard geometry? That would be required before running the Solid Tools. Use Solid Inspector 2 to check to see what is preventing the object from being marked as a solid if that’s the case.
easy with profile builder
I do this as @DaveR suggests for stone, trim, rail, etc.
Make the perimeter with your profile then use solid tools / trim and keep to cut away doors, windows, whatever.
