Finding acceptable keyboard shortcuts

I very recently had a similar problem on Mac, El Capitan.

Thanks for those thoughts. I have a few personalised shortcuts, though not enough to cause a real problem if I have to reassign them. The key is NOT to press the Enter key after assigning a shortcut. Just click somewhere else
