Hey I need help being able to open this sketch-up file; it says file not found or invalid was wondering if anyone knew how I can recover it.
We can’t help you unless you make the file accessible. Currently we get an Access Denied message.
Where have you been saving the file as you were working on it? Is there a .skb backup file available?
Just made the link accessible sorry about that, also I save it on trimble connect so does that automatically create a skb file somewhere?
If you’re only saving to Trimble Connect there’ll be no .skb made. If you saved the file there more than once, there should be a previous version, though. Are you using the desktop version of SketchUp? I haven’t heard of anyone having problems with files saved to Trimble Connect.
I had no luck with it but it might be that @colin can take a look when he gets to work. Maybe he’ll have success.
I switched between my Macbook and pc; the last time I made changes to the file was on my PC; I’m pretty sure I pressed save for the file, and then I went into Trimble connect and overwritten the old file.
Trimble Connect doesn’t overwrite the file when you save. It creates an incremental version. Go to connect.trimble.com, log in and go to the Folder where you saved the file. Find the file and tick the box to select it. In the right hand sidebar you should see the number of copies in history. Select an earlier one to download to your computer and try opening it.
Thanks so much. That worked, and I really appreciate the fast replies. You are the best.
